What is Whole Body Cryotherapy?

Whole Body Cryotherapy is a cold treatment where you will stay in a cabin of -110 degrees Celsius for 3 minutes. In response to the cold, processes are initiated throughout your body that provide more energy, better skin, faster metabolism and muscle recovery, for example after sports.

How did Whole Body Cryotherapy originate?

Whole Body Cryotherapy originated in Japan in the 70’s, resulting from research into pain relief for rheumatoid arthritis. When cryotherapy turned out to be very effective, it was also increasingly used outside the medical world. Over the last few years Whole Body Cryotherapy has become more popular in sport, beauty and wellness.

Is Whole Body Cryotherapy safe?

If you do not have any of the contra-indications, Whole Body Cryotherapy is completely safe. It has been used for decades, thousands of times daily, worldwide.

What will I be wearing?

In the N-icelab cabin you will only wear your underwear, shorts (including a top for women) or swimwear. You will also wear a headband or a cap, socks with slippers, gloves and a mouth cap, which we will all provide. If you walk in and do not have the right clothes with you, you can use our free shorts (and tops for women). N-ice offers free use of a bathrobe to all our customers during the visit.

How long in advance should I be present?

If it is your first time, we ask you to be present for at least 15 minutes in advance so that we can put all your information in the system properly and measure your blood pressure. After your first visit, please be present at least 5 minutes in advance.

What do I have to bring along?

You do not have to bring anything.

How can I pay?

At N-ice you can pay by debit card or credit card (unfortunately, paying in cash is not possible). Subscriptions will be paid by direct debit.

Does Whole Body Cryotherapy hurt?

During the treatment, you may feel a light tingling sensation in your limbs in the last 30 seconds. Every user experiences these sensations differently.

How long does Whole Body Cryotherapy take?

A Whole Body Cryotherapy session takes 3 minutes. First you will stay in a room of -10 degrees Celsius for 10 seconds, then you’ll stay in a room of -60 degrees Celsius for 10 seconds, and finally you will enter the room of -110 degrees Celsius. Here you will stay for 2 minutes and 40 seconds before returning through the first two rooms. The doors of the N-icelab are never locked so you can leave the cabin anytime.

If you have made a reservation through our app, a complete visit including Whole Body Cryotherapy can be done within 10 minutes.

What will I notice afterwards?

Once you get out of the N-icelab cabin you will feel very energetic, cheerful and positive. This is due to the release of endorphin and serotonin.

What are the effects?

Whole Body Cryotherapy stimulates:

  • Production of additional endorphin and serotonin
  • Acceleration of metabolism that will help your body to burn more calories
  • Reduction of cortisol, also known as the stress hormone, will make you deal better with stress and also improve your sleep rhythm
  • Reduction of swelling and muscle aches
  • Production of extra collagen for better skin
  • Faster muscle recovery after exercise
  • A better balance of your immune system; this will help for auto-immune disease

Can I go into the N-icelab cabin by myself, or with women only?

That is certainly possible. Consult our N-ice mobile app, website or one of our employees to check at what times this is possible.

Where can I change clothes and store my valuable items?

At N-ice you can change clothes and leave your belongings safely in our private changing rooms. Each room has a code-lock of which you can choose the code yourself.

What is Cryolipolysis?

Cryolipolysis is a method of temporarily freezing fat cells. As a result, the body breaks down the fat naturally and will dispose it within 12 weeks.

Does Cryolipolysis hurt?

The effect of the applicator's suction may feel uncomfortable in the first few minutes, but this feeling usually disappears quickly. The treated area might be sensitive or numb after the treatment. This may take several days to weeks to disappear.

When will I see results?

The results of Cryolipolysis will be visible in 10 to 12 weeks after the treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

On average, two Cryolipolysis treatments are required per zone.

How long should there be in between treatments?

For the best results, there must be 12 weeks between treatments in the same area.

How long in advance should I be present?

Each N-ice Sculpting treatment starts with an intake interview with our N-ice Cryolipolysis specialist. After this interview, we will plan the treatments and ask you to be present at least 5 minutes in advance for each appointment.

What clothes should I wear?

This depends on the areas that will be treated. It is recommended not to wear tight clothing covering the treated area. This may feel somewhat uncomfortable afterwards.

Can I go into the Whole Body Cryotherapy cabin immediately after the treatment?

We recommend not doing this before 48 hours have passed.

What is the N-ice and Firm treatment?

A High Energy Radial Shockwave Massage.

What is the effect of N-ice and Firm?

This is a skin enhancing treatment that will make the skin tighter and speed up the breakdown of fat after Cryolipolysis.

When should I do this?

The N-ice and Firm treatment is ideally done after Cryolipolysis.

How long does the treatment take?

A single treatment takes 15 minutes.

Why are there four treatments in one package?

To achieve optimal results, the treatment should be repeated at 4 times. Depending on what the problem area requires, this could also be more.

What is Anti Cellulite Treatment?

During this treatment, the skin will be cooled, which stimulates the blood circulation and activates the lymph nodes. The High Energy Radial Shockwave massage loosens the tissue and makes it easier for your body to break down the body fat.

What are the effects?

A reduction of fat deposits in places where your body shows cellulite.

Why are there 10 treatments in one package?

To achieve optimal results, the treatment should be repeated 10 times.

How long does a treatment take?

A single treatment takes 30 minutes.

What is a Cryo Facial?

The Cryo Facial is a skin treatment with a very cold, but comfortable, dry airflow. During the facial, blood vessels in the skin constrict (vasoconstriction) and will dilate after the treatment, detoxing the skin faster. The facial accelerates the microcirculation of blood in the skin and transports more oxygen to the skin cells. It stimulates the production of collagen and has a detoxifying effect on the skin.

What will I notice afterwards?

Your skin will be tighter and more radiant, tired skin will be more energetic, the skin texture and complexion will be visibly improved, skin irritation will decrease and acne scars will be less visible.

How long does a treatment take?

A Cryo Facial takes 15 minutes.
